Explanation

The Torah (Tawrat) is the holy book revealed to Prophet Musa (Moses) and is recognized in Islam as one of the four major revealed scriptures. In Christian tradition, it forms the first part of the Bible and is called the Old Testament, which contains the sacred history and laws of the Israelites. The term "Old Testament" distinguishes it from the "New Testament" (Injil/Gospel) in Christian scripture.

Good to know

Islam recognizes four major revealed books: the Torah (Tawrat) given to Musa (A.S.), the Zabur (Psalms) given to Dawood (A.S.), the Injil (Gospel) given to Isa (A.S.), and the Quran revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Muslims believe the original Torah was a divine revelation, though they hold that its text has undergone alterations over time, unlike the Quran which remains preserved.
