Why PMS searchers need this bank

Punjab PMS is mostly written papers. The exception is General Knowledge: fully objective, typically 100 marks, with 0.25 deducted per wrong answer on the published PPSC outline.

That paper is why PMS aspirants need this bank. Guessing strategy is the opposite of CSS MPT, which has no negative marking.

PMS advertisement dates, last dates to apply and paper dates appear only on ppsc.gop.pk. We do not publish them.

Accuracy beats coverage. With a 0.25 penalty, a wild guess can cost more than a blank. CSS MPT has no negative marking — do not carry that habit into PMS GK.

What the published outline covers

PPSC’s PMS General Knowledge outline is current affairs, sciences, computer, basic maths/reasoning and standing general facts. Confirm the wording on ppsc.gop.pk for your cycle.

  • Current Affairs

Updated knowledge of current events, issues and developments, with enough historical perspective to understand them. Practise under Current Affairs, then verify incumbents and recent decisions from official sources.

  • Physical, biological, environmental and food sciences

Everyday science at general-paper depth: body, vitamins, environment, food and basic physical science — not a university science paper.

  • Computer science and information technology

Hardware and software fundamentals, office applications, internet, email and basic communications.

  • Basic mathematics and reasoning

Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, averages, ratios, percentages, logical and analytical reasoning, series, time and work, speed and basic statistics.

  • General

Scientists, inventions, discoveries, scientific laws and units of measurement — the standing GK layer.

PMS GK — common questions

What is PMS GK?
In Punjab PMS, General Knowledge is a compulsory written paper that PPSC outlines as fully objective (MCQ), typically 100 marks. It is not a substitute for English essay, Urdu or optional subjects. Confirm the scheme on ppsc.gop.pk for your cycle.
Is PMS GK a screening test?
People search “PMS screening test” for this paper, but in Punjab it is a compulsory written paper, not a PPSC one-paper job advertisement. Assistant Director, Inspector and Clerk tests are different exams that reuse much of the same general bank. Always read the advertisement in front of you.
Is there negative marking in PMS GK?
PPSC’s published PMS outline deducts 0.25 mark for each wrong answer in the objective General Knowledge paper. That is not “25 marks deducted per question”. A blank answer is safer than a wild guess. Confirm the penalty on the syllabus for your cycle — CSS MPT has no negative marking.
Does this prepare the whole of PMS?
No. Punjab PMS still has descriptive English, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamic Studies or Ethics, optionals, a psychological test and an interview. This bank is for the objective GK paper and for the factual base of the other general papers.
When is the next PMS exam?
Only PPSC can confirm that. We do not publish PMS advertisement dates, last dates to apply or paper dates. Open ppsc.gop.pk and read the current combined competitive examination notice.
Is PMS GK the same as CSS MPT?
Same factual core, different exam. CSS MPT is FPSC’s 200-question qualifying screen with no negative marking. PMS GK is PPSC’s 100-mark objective compulsory paper with a wrong-answer penalty. Practise the overlapping subjects, then sit each paper with its own marking rule.
