About the Sindh Public Service Commission

The Sindh Public Service Commission conducts recruitment for provincial government departments in Sindh, with competitive screening tests for both officer-level and subordinate posts.

SPSC papers follow the familiar one-paper structure: a general portion covering English, Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, general knowledge and everyday science, plus a post-specific portion.

Sindh-specific general knowledge — the province’s districts, history, culture and notable figures — appears regularly, and much of this material sits inside our Pakistan Studies and Geography subjects.

Subjects to prepare for SPSC

These are the subjects that commonly appear in the general portion of SPSC papers, ordered roughly by how much attention they usually deserve. The official syllabus for your specific post is always the authority.

Posts commonly filled through SPSC

  • Assistant Director
  • Mukhtiarkar
  • Sub Inspector (Sindh Police)
  • Lecturer (Sindh Education)
  • Assistant / Junior Clerk
  • Excise & Taxation Officer

Indicative only. Posts and eligibility change with every recruitment cycle — check the current advertisement on the official website.

A preparation plan that works

  1. 1

Start with the heaviest subject, not the easiest

For SPSC that usually means English. Work through its topics one at a time rather than sampling questions at random.

  2. 2

Use past papers as your diagnostic

Practise the past-paper mode for a subject before the general mode. It shows you the level and style examiners actually use, which recalibrates how you study everything else.

  3. 3

Let the evaluation choose your next session

After a few sessions your topic-wise correction rates will make one weakness obvious. Go there next. Repeat until nothing is under fifty per cent.

  4. 4

Revise in 1-Liner mode in the final week

Do not attempt new questions the night before. Sweep whole topics in reading mode instead — it covers far more ground per hour and keeps your confidence intact.

SPSC preparation — common questions

What should I prepare first for SPSC?
Start with Pakistan Studies and Islamiat. Both carry consistent weight, both are largely factual, and both are the fastest subjects to convert from unprepared to reliable. English and everyday science follow.
Are these MCQs relevant to Sindh-specific questions?
Partly. Our Pakistan Studies and Geography subjects cover national and provincial material including the geography, history and administration of Pakistan. Purely local trivia specific to a single district should be supplemented from the official provincial sources.
