Explanation

Hazrat Halima Saadia was the foster mother of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She belonged to the Banu Saad ibn Bakr tribe, a branch of the larger Hawazin tribe. It was a custom among the Quraysh to send their newborns to the desert with Bedouin wet nurses for a healthier upbringing, and the Prophet (PBUH) was entrusted to Hazrat Halima, who nursed and cared for him during his early childhood years.

Good to know

The Banu Saad tribe lived in the desert region near Taif and were known for their pure Arabic dialect. Hazrat Halima and her husband Harith brought the infant Prophet (PBUH) to their desert home where he stayed for about four to five years. During this time, the famous incident of the opening of the chest (Shaq-e-Sadr) occurred, after which Hazrat Halima returned the Prophet (PBUH) to his mother, Hazrat Amina.
