Explanation

The four sacred months in Islam are Dhul-Qa'dah, Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab, as mentioned in Surah At-Tawbah (9:36). During these months, fighting was traditionally prohibited, and good deeds are considered more meritorious while sins are regarded as more grievous. This divine designation emphasizes the sanctity of time in Islamic teachings.

Good to know

The Quran explicitly states in Surah At-Tawbah (9:36) that the number of months with Allah is twelve, of which four are sacred. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) identified these months in his Farewell Sermon as Dhul-Qa'dah, Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram (the three consecutive months), and Rajab (the separate month of Mudar tribe). This classification predates Islam and was respected even in pre-Islamic Arabia.
