Good to know

Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) was given the kunyah "Abu Huraira" (Father of the Kitten) by the Prophet (PBUH) because of his fondness for a small cat he used to carry. He spent nearly three years in the constant company of the Prophet (PBUH) after his conversion. His exceptional memory and devotion to recording Hadith made him invaluable to Islamic scholarship, and he was appointed as the governor of Bahrain during the caliphate of Hazrat Umar (R.A).
