Explanation

Prophet Moses (A.S.) was born among the Israelites at a time when Pharaoh had ordered the killing of all newborn Israelite males. By Allah's divine plan, his mother placed him in a basket and set him afloat on the Nile River. The basket was discovered by Pharaoh's family, and his wife Asiya convinced Pharaoh to adopt the child. Thus, Moses (A.S.) was raised in the very palace of the tyrant who sought to destroy his people.

Good to know

The story of Prophet Moses (A.S.) is one of the most frequently mentioned narratives in the Holy Quran. He is mentioned by name over 130 times across various Surahs. Pharaoh's wife, Asiya (R.A.), is revered in Islamic tradition as one of the four greatest women of Paradise, alongside Maryam (A.S.), Khadija (R.A.), and Fatima (R.A.). Despite being raised in Pharaoh's palace, Moses (A.S.) never forgot his Israelite origins and was later chosen by Allah as a Prophet to confront Pharaoh and lead the Israelites to freedom.
