What is the shortest Surah in the Holy Quran?

Explanation

Surah Al-Kausar is the 108th chapter of the Holy Quran and is the shortest Surah, comprising only 3 verses and 10 words. It was revealed in Makkah and carries a profound message of gratitude to Allah for bestowing abundant goodness (Al-Kausar) upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), along with a command to pray and sacrifice, and a reassurance that his enemies will be cut off.

Good to know

Surah Al-Kausar is part of the 30th Juz (Para) of the Quran and is often memorized by Muslims due to its brevity. The word "Kausar" refers to a river in Paradise granted to the Prophet (PBUH) as well as abundant goodness in this world and the Hereafter. It was revealed as a consolation when the Prophet (PBUH) lost his son and the Quraysh taunted him of being without posterity.
