Explanation

Sahih Bukhari is the most authentic collection of Hadith in Islam, compiled by Imam Muhammad bin Ismail al-Bukhari (194–256 AH). He spent over 16 years collecting and verifying approximately 600,000 hadiths, out of which he selected around 7,275 (with repetitions) based on his rigorous authenticity criteria. Sahih Bukhari is considered second only to the Quran in authority by Sunni Muslims and is the foremost book among the Sihah Sitta (the six authentic hadith collections).

Good to know

Imam Bukhari was born in Bukhara (present-day Uzbekistan) in 194 AH. He had an extraordinary memory from a young age and traveled extensively across the Islamic world, including Hijaz, Egypt, Iraq, and Persia, to collect hadiths. His full name is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ismail bin Ibrahim bin al-Mughirah al-Bukhari. The title "Sahih" indicates that the compiler included only those hadiths which met his strict conditions of authenticity regarding the chain of narrators and the text.
