Quick fact: During the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said 'Shoot arrows fast' to Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas (RA).

Explanation

Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas (RA) was renowned as one of the most skilled archers among the companions of the Prophet (PBUH). He was the first companion to shoot an arrow in the path of Islam and is famously known by the title "Faris-ul-Islam" (the first archer of Islam). During the Battle of Uhud, when the Muslim army faced intense pressure, the Prophet (PBUH) personally encouraged Saad (RA) to shoot arrows rapidly, and he also handed arrows to Saad (RA) himself. Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas (RA) is also among the Ashra Mubashra (the ten promised Paradise) and later became the conqueror of Persia.

Good to know

The Battle of Uhud took place in 3 AH (625 CE) near Mount Uhud in Madina, where the Quraysh sought revenge for their defeat at Badr. Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas (RA) was one of the two archers who remained steadfast with the Prophet (PBUH) when most of the Muslim archers abandoned their positions on the mountain pass. He was also the maternal uncle of the Prophet (PBUH), belonging to the Banu Zuhrah clan of the Quraysh. His exceptional archery skills were a crucial asset to the Muslim army in several battles.
