Explanation

The Khilafat-e-Rashida, also known as the Rightly Guided Caliphate, began with the caliphate of Abu Bakr (R.A) in 632 CE after the passing of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and ended with the martyrdom of Ali (R.A) in 661 CE, spanning exactly 30 years. This period is highly revered in Islamic history as it was governed according to the principles of the Quran and Sunnah. The four caliphs during this era were Abu Bakr (R.A), Umar (R.A), Usman (R.A), and Ali (R.A), with a brief caliphate of Hassan (R.A) lasting about six months.

Good to know

The Pious-Caliphate (632–661 CE) is called "Rashida" meaning "Rightly Guided" because the caliphs ruled strictly according to Islamic principles. Abu Bakr (R.A) ruled for about 2 years, Umar (R.A) for 10 years, Usman (R.A) for 12 years, and Ali (R.A) for about 5 years. The caliphate of Hassan (R.A) lasted only around 6 months and is sometimes included in this count, bringing the total to 30 years, as prophesied by the Prophet (PBUH).
