Explanation

The Rashidun Caliphate began with the caliphate of Abu Bakr (R.A) in 632 CE after the death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and ended with the martyrdom of Ali (R.A) in 661 CE, after which the Umayyad Caliphate was established by Muawiyah (R.A). It spanned the rule of four rightly-guided caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman, and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them all), with a brief caliphate of Hassan (R.A) of about six months that is sometimes included, but the core period is widely accepted as 30 years.

Good to know

The Rashidun Caliphate (632–661 CE) is known as the era of the "Rightly Guided Caliphs." Abu Bakr (R.A) ruled for about 2 years, Umar (R.A) for about 10 years, Usman (R.A) for about 12 years, and Ali (R.A) for about 5 years. This period is considered the golden age of Islamic governance, marked by justice, expansion, and strict adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).
