Explanation

Imam Malik ibn Anas (711–795 CE) spent approximately 40 years meticulously compiling the Muwatta, which is one of the earliest and most authoritative collections of hadith and Islamic jurisprudence. He carefully selected narrations from thousands he had gathered, ensuring each was authentic according to his rigorous standards. The Muwatta is unique because it not only contains hadith but also the practices of the people of Madinah (amal ahl al-Madinah), which Imam Malik considered a living tradition tracing back to the Prophet (PBUH).
