Hazrat Amina bint Wahb passed away when the Prophet (PBUH) was only six years old. She was returning from a visit to Madina, where she had taken the young Prophet (PBUH) to meet his maternal relatives from the Banu Najjar tribe. On the return journey to Makkah, she fell ill and died at Abwa, where she was buried. The Prophet (PBUH) later visited her grave during his lifetime and is reported to have wept, showing his deep love for his mother.
Abwa is a village located approximately 40 kilometers from Madina on the way to Makkah. After the death of Hazrat Amina, the orphaned Prophet (PBUH) was taken into the care of his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, and later by his uncle, Abu Talib. The grave of Hazrat Amina at Abwa is a well-known historical site, and the Prophet (PBUH) himself visited it during the Hudaybiyyah journey, where he sought permission from Allah to visit his mother's grave and it was granted.
