Al-Zahrawi (936–1013 CE), known in the West as Abulcasis, was an Andalusian physician and surgeon who authored the famous medical encyclopedia Al-Tasrif. His contributions to surgical techniques and instruments remained influential in Europe for centuries, earning him the title "Father of Modern Surgery."
