Explanation

The Battle of Yamama (633 CE) was fought during the caliphate of Abu Bakr (R.A) against the false prophet Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab. The martyrdom of 70 Huffaz in this single battle alarmed the companions, particularly Umar (R.A), who urged Abu Bakr (R.A) to compile the Quran into a written book form to prevent its loss. This directly led to the first official compilation of the Holy Quran under the supervision of Zayd ibn Thabit (R.A).

Good to know

The Battle of Yamama took place in 633 CE during the Ridda (Apostasy) Wars under Caliph Abu Bakr Siddiq (R.A). Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab, who claimed prophethood, was killed in this battle by Wahshi (R.A), the same person who had killed Hamza (R.A) at Uhud before embracing Islam. The heavy loss of Quran memorizers became the catalyst for the first written compilation of the Quran, a landmark event in Islamic history.
