Explanation

Wuquf-e-Arafaat is the most essential pillar (rukn) of Hajj, without which Hajj is invalid. Pilgrims gather at the plain of Arafaat on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah from midday until sunset, standing in prayer and supplication. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Hajj is Arafah," emphasizing its centrality. This ritual commemorates the gathering on the Day of Judgment and is a profound act of devotion and seeking forgiveness.
