Explanation

Ghazwa-e-Tabook was the last military expedition led by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and took place in the month of Rajab, 9 Hijri. It was a campaign against the Byzantine Empire, who were reportedly amassing troops at the Syrian border. The expedition is notable because the Prophet (PBUH) ordered the companions to prepare despite extreme heat and hardship, testing their faith and commitment. It is also the only Ghazwa where no actual fighting occurred, as the Byzantine forces had withdrawn by the time the Muslim army arrived.

Good to know

Ghazwa-e-Tabook is also known as "Jaysh al-Usrah" (the Army of Hardship) due to the severe difficulties faced by the Muslims, including scorching heat, scarcity of water, and long distances. It was during this expedition that the hypocrites made excuses to stay behind, and the famous incident of Masjid-e-Dirar occurred. The Quran mentions this expedition in Surah At-Tawbah, which was revealed in connection with the events surrounding Tabook.
