Name the uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was also his foster brother.

Explanation

Hazrat Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib (RA) was the paternal uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and was only about two years older than him. They were both nursed by the same foster mother, Halima Saadia, which made them foster brothers in addition to being uncle and nephew. Hazrat Hamza (RA) earned the title "Asadullah" (Lion of Allah) for his bravery and was martyred in the Battle of Uhud.

Good to know

He was among the earliest and most courageous defenders of Islam. The Prophet (PBUH) was deeply grieved by his martyrdom at Uhud, where he was killed by Wahshi bin Harb, and he was given the title "Sayyid-ush-Shuhada" (Leader of the Martyrs).
