Explanation

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) married a total of 11 or 12 wives during his lifetime, depending on scholarly opinions. However, at the time of his death, only 9 wives were living. Two wives—Khadija (R.A) and Zaynab bint Khuzayma (R.A)—had passed away before him. The 9 surviving wives are known as the "Mothers of the Believers" (Ummahat-ul-Momineen) and hold a special status in Islam.
