Explanation

The Hijrah took place in 622 CE (1 AH), marking the beginning of the Islamic calendar. The Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madina in Rabi-ul-Awwal and spent the remaining years of his blessed life there, passing away in 632 CE (11 AH). This 10-year Madinan period was foundational for the establishment of the Islamic state, the completion of the Quranic revelation, and the consolidation of the Muslim Ummah.

Good to know

The Prophet ﷺ spent approximately 13 years in Makkah after receiving prophethood before migrating to Madina. The Hijrah was not merely a change of location but a pivotal turning point in Islamic history, after which the Islamic calendar was established by Umar (R.A). During these 10 years in Madina, major events such as the battles of Badr, Uhud, Khandaq, the Treaty of Hudaibiya, and the Conquest of Makkah took place.
