Quick fact: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) purchased the camel named Qaswa during the Hijrah to Madinah.

Explanation

Qaswa was the Prophet's (PBUH) most famous camel, purchased from Abu Bakr (R.A) during the migration from Makkah to Madinah. She carried the Prophet (PBUH) throughout the Hijrah journey and was his mount on many significant occasions, including the Conquest of Makkah and the Farewell Pilgrimage. Qaswa is also the camel that knelt down at the spot where the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid al-Nabawi) was later built, indicating where the Prophet (PBUH) would stay in Madinah.

Good to know

Qaswa was a female camel known for her strength, speed, and loyalty. The Prophet (PBUH) purchased her from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (R.A) for 800 dirhams at the time of Hijrah. She was the same camel that the Prophet (PBUH) rode during the Battle of Badr and when entering Makkah triumphantly. After the Prophet's (PBUH) passing, Qaswa is reported to have stopped eating and died shortly thereafter out of grief.
