Explanation

The Prophet (PBUH) performed four Umrahs during his lifetime: Umrah of Hudaibiya (6 AH, which was not completed due to the treaty), Umrah al-Qadha/Qaza (7 AH, performed in compensation), Umrah from Ji'ranah after the Battle of Hunain (8 AH), and Umrah performed along with his Farewell Hajj (10 AH). This fact is well established in authentic hadith and seerah literature.

Good to know

Umrah is the lesser pilgrimage that can be performed at any time of the year, unlike Hajj which has specific dates. While the Prophet (PBUH) performed only one Hajj (the Farewell Hajj in 10 AH), he performed four Umrahs. Three of these were in the month of Dhul-Qadah, and one was performed along with his Hajj. This distinction between the number of Hajj and Umrah performed by the Prophet (PBUH) is a commonly tested fact in Islamic studies exams.
