Explanation

The five pillars of Islam are the core framework of a Muslim's faith and practice. They are, in order: Shahadah (declaration of faith), Salat (prayer), Zakat (charity), Saum (fasting in Ramadan), and Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah). Hajj is the fifth and final pillar, performed in the month of Dhul-Hijjah, and it represents the ultimate act of worship and submission to Allah.

Good to know

The five pillars of Islam were established through the famous Hadith of Jibreel (Gabriel), in which the angel asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. Hajj became obligatory in the 9th year after Hijrah, and it is performed annually by millions of Muslims from around the world. The pilgrimage includes specific rituals such as Tawaf around the Kaaba, Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and standing at Arafat.
