Quick fact: The compiler of the first Hadith work known as Sahifa-e-Sadiqa was Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (RA).

Explanation

Sahifa-e-Sadiqa (The Truthful Scroll) is historically recognized as the earliest written compilation of Hadith, recorded by Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Aas (RA). He was known for his dedication to preserving the sayings of the Prophet (PBUH) and had obtained special permission from the Prophet to write down whatever he heard from him. This compilation predates all other major Hadith collections and is considered a foundational document in the history of Hadith preservation, containing approximately 1,000 narrations.

Good to know

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Aas (RA) was the son of the famous companion Amr bin al-Aas (RA) and embraced Islam before his father. He was known for his piety, knowledge, and devotion to worship. He had a deep interest in the earlier scriptures as well, having studied the Torah and reportedly reading the Bible. The Sahifa-e-Sadiqa was later incorporated into the Musnad of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, and many of its narrations have been preserved through his student, the freed slave Abu Qabool, and later through Amr bin Shu'ayb, his great-grandson.
