Explanation

Ziarat-e-Tawaf, also known as Tawaf-e-Ziarat or Tawaf-e-Ifadah, is one of the essential pillars (arkan) of Hajj. It is performed after returning from Mina on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah or the following days of Tashreeq. Since it is a fundamental obligation of Hajj, omitting it invalidates the Hajj, making it Faraz (obligatory) according to the consensus of Islamic jurists.

Good to know

Hajj consists of several obligatory acts including Ihram, Wuquf at Arafat, Tawaf-e-Ziarat, and Sa'ee between Safa and Marwah. Tawaf-e-Ziarat is specifically performed after the stoning of Jamarat al-Aqabah and the sacrifice on Eid al-Adha. It is distinct from Tawaf-e-Qudoom (the arrival tawaf) and Tawaf-e-Wida (the farewell tawaf), which hold different legal rulings in Islamic jurisprudence.
