Quick fact: At the time of Ghazwa-e-Khandaq, the only Jewish tribe left in Madina was Banu Quraizah.

Explanation

Before Ghazwa-e-Khandaq (Battle of the Trench) in 5 AH, two other major Jewish tribes—Banu Qaynuqa and Banu Nadir—had already been exiled from Madina for violating their treaties with the Muslims. Banu Quraizah was the last remaining Jewish tribe in Madina, but they too betrayed the Muslims during the siege by conspiring with the Quraysh. After the battle, they were punished for their treachery according to the judgment of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (R.A).

Good to know

Ghazwa-e-Khandaq took place in Shawwal, 5 AH, when the Quraysh and their allies laid siege to Madina. On the suggestion of Salman al-Farsi (R.A), a trench was dug around the city for defense. During this siege, Banu Quraizah broke their pact with the Muslims and sided with the attacking confederates. After the siege was lifted, the Muslims turned to deal with Banu Quraizah, resulting in the end of Jewish tribal presence in Madina.
